B.J. Thomas and Jay & The Americans - one of Branson’s hottest concert tickets for 2020!  Two incredible blasts-from-the-past legends bring you some of the biggest songs from rock’s best decades, delighting both long-time fans and anyone just discovering the magic of two of music’s most treasured acts.  With a voice that easily crosses over and back from pop to country, B.J. Thomas delivers a batch of hits with genuine emotion and a touch of blue-eyed soul, especially when he sings “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Rock and Roll Lullaby,” “(Hey, Won’t You Play) Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song,” and “I Just Can’t Help Believin’.” The five-time Grammy winner also gave us songs that gained him a whole new generation of fans when they were attached to big TV and movie projects, including “As Long As We Got Each Other,” the theme for the long-running show, Growing Pains - it gave him a hit as a duet with Dusty Springfield, and then all over again when he recorded it with Jennifer Warnes for the popular sitcom. Probably the best known B.J. Thomas song, “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” was recorded for the classic film, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid - it hit the top of the music charts, was installed in the Grammy Hall of Fame, and earned its writers an Academy Award for Best Original Song.  

Jay & The Americans landed on the music charts in the early 60s with their emotional song “She Cried,” and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame act went on to hit the Top Ten with “Come a Little Bit Closer,” “Walkin’ in the Rain,” and easily their most memorable song, “This Magic Moment.”  The clean-cut, sharply attired group also hit it big with an unlikely song, one that shook up the rock ‘n roll and pop trends of the times with its’ beautiful operatic sound - “Cara Mia” was only released as a single after Jay & The Americansperformed the song on The Tonight Show, a move that resulted in scores of letters from fans asking that the song come to radio. They landed several other songs in the Top 20, including “Sunday and Me,” “Some Enchanted Evening,” and “Let’s Lock the Door (And Throw Away the Key.)”

• B.J. Thomas and Jay & The Americans will be appearing at the Welk Resort Theatre.

• The Resort can be found just a few minutes from The Strip at 1984 Missouri Highway 165.

• This one-night-only concert comes to Branson on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 7:00 p.m.

• The Welk Resort also houses a full-service hotel and restaurant, a nice gift shop, and condos, as well as an indoor waterpark available for lodging guests.

• Concert attendees have easy access to a concession area, as well as the restaurant, which can be found across the lobby from the interior entrance to the theater.  Restrooms are located on either side of the entrance.

• Parking is slightly uphill from the entrance to the theater building, but there is a half-circle drive to make it easy for guest drop-off and pick-up.

• The concert featuring B.J. Thomas and Jay & The Americans will be family-friendly and suitable entertainment for guests of all ages.
