Because he’s joined by the incomparable Mitch Ryder - the real Mitch Ryder from the Motor City’s bluesy rock side...that’s Detroit, Michigan...Motown...one of the nation’s biggest sources of great rock, pop, and soul artists for the past fifty years. Peter Noone, one of the brightest stars of the British Invasion of the 60s, and Mitch Ryder, a home-grown rock star - hurray!
If you’re too young to recall these rock legends when they first hit the music scene, or maybe you’ve never streamed a radio station or found a playlist that’s been blessed with their hits, you’ve really been missing something special. It’s a safe bet you’ve heard a Hermits song or two as part of a movie or television show soundtrack, or a Mitch Ryder hit when a brilliant DJ wants you on the dance floor...Herman's Hermits Starring Peter Noone gave us lots of hits, including “Dandy,” “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” “There’s A Kind Of Hush,” “I’m Into Something Good,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” “Listen People,” and “I’m Henry VIII, I Am.” Mitch Ryder got everyone’s music mojo going to songs like “Little Latin Lupe Lu,” “Sock It To Me Baby,” “Jenny Take a Ride,” “Too Many Fish in the Sea,” and the incredibly infectious “Devil With a Blue Dress On.”
When Herman’s Hermits first hit American soil, they sold out concerts faster, and their music was played more, than the band now considered to be the world’s most popular - The Beatles. Mitch Ryder has been such an influence on rock god, Bruce Springsteen, that he still includes a “Detroit Medley,” featuring several of Ryder’s songs, in many of his concert performances.
